You are a creative, talented and committed middleweight designer, passionate about design, the creative process and design thinking.
You will have some experience of designing graphics for the built environment, alongside experience in information graphics, print and branding. Being able to work with direction and take feedback and observations from more senior creative designers within the studio in a positive manner is a pre-requisite, as is having strong communication skills and the confidence to both present ideas and get involved in all stages of the creative process, from ideation, to production, and implementation.
Provide a creative, effective and innovative role in graphic and infographic design for any particular project working effectively as part of the design team for a variety of clients with a particular strengths in design for wayfinding, brand, and print projects.
Develop an understanding of the environments we are designing for, carrying out site visits and audits.
Assist in the development of wayfinding strategies.
Develop the skill to deliver map design including content, index options and style.
Develop an understanding of Information graphics - scale in the built environment and details such as pictograms, tone of voice, arrows…etc
Have involvement in the creation of the correct content - hierarchy, progressive disclosure etc
Participate and contribute in brainstorming/design sprints, conduct any relevant research for projects, add insight and value, and assist in achieving studio and project goals.
Generate design concepts through to final design with the support of other members of the team. This includes developing presentations for both internal and external meetings and presentations.
Be responsible for accomplishing and maintaining the quality of design throughout all phases of the project showing complete attention to detail, with consideration for the end user and how they ultimately engage with the studio’s creative output.
Deliver work according to an agreed timescale and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, multi-tasking and prioritising.
Have the ability to effectively deal with clients - both written and verbally
Working collaboratively with the 3d designers to ensure work is fully co-ordinated, gaining an understanding of product – materials and detailing
Carry out ad hoc duties as requested by appropriate members of the team
