  KNOW THE ROLE

Our Finance team are looking for a Part-Qualified Accountant to join their team. Our Head Office in Clarendon Street is a hub of creativity, style and innovation. Having an open plan space makes it easy to share ideas and be inspired daily.

This role will provide the opportunity to work with different functions within the accounting structure over both brands Brown Thomas and Arnotts. The successful candidate will have responsibility for all accounting aspects of the concession business in Arnotts. 

KNOW WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the accounting and billing of all Arnotts concession partners
  • Liaise with concession partners and concession manager
  • Month End Responsibilities to include:
    • Journal postings for all concession transactions to strict internal deadlines
    • The reconciliation of concession balance sheet
    • Journal posting for other ad-hock items
  • Preparation of Management accounts reports for the business
  • Support with managing the year-end processes including preparation for Audit
  • Work closely with AP/AR team in Poland
  • Ad Hoc projects, supporting the Finance Manager

Person Specification

  • Part Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 1-2 years’ experience of working in a finance position within a similar environment
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills 
  • Good communication and networking skills across all levels in a matrix environment
  • Must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgement showing logical decision making and a hands on approach
  • Highly organised and efficient with ability to work under pressure, manage a diverse and competing workload ensuring deadlines are met
  • Flexible, open to change, comfortable managing a constantly changing environment
  • Experience within a retail environment
  • Good excel skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles
  • Knowledge of Coda, Cognos and/or Hyperion/Essbase packages and Oracle accounting packages
  • Working knowledge of Accounts Payable and General Ledger.
