The Research & Analysis Specialist will be responsible for a range of duties related to the management of the platform and its activities.
 
Reporting lines and interactions
 
The Project Lead will work under the guidance of a Head of the Energy System Initiative.
 
Main responsibilities 
 
80% Support on Platform Challenges, projects and content
  • Provide project management and administrative support to one of the energy platform challenges (Energy Transition, Systemic Efficiency, Innovation and Clean Energy) and related projects. Responsibilities include project planning, tracking milestones and objectives, conducting stakeholder consultations, as well as external and internal communications.
  • Develop and manage workshops, sessions at Forum summits, and meetings to support the project and content and value to partners. This includes co-building agenda and session structures, lists of participants, drafting background and pre-read materials, ensuring that invitations and supporting materials are produced appropriately and on time, providing logistical support, and writing notes and minutes from meetings.
  • Interface with stakeholders: Support working group and steering board calls, including scheduling calls, preparing pre-reading materials and writing minutes from calls. Co-manage a Global Future Council (GFC). The Energy Platform includes two GFCs, which are part of a larger network of Councils. This includes serving as the interface with the 20 plus members, managing the monthly meetings and curating articles, papers, and workstreams.
  • Work with teams across the Forum’s global centres to ensure the successful engagement of Partners and Members in Forum activities and events related to the Energy Platform
20% Research and analysis support
  • Provide analysis on rising trends and emerging issues to anticipate market shifts and explore new issues for the Energy Platform. Update Transformation Maps (a Forum tool) for the Energy Platform, Oil and Gas and Electricity industries.
  • Identify and map key energy experts and influencers shaping the energy ecosystem
  • Ensure cooperation with internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships based on trust and professionalism
The successful candidate will be assessed on

  • Knowledge and experience related to energy
  • Quality of interactions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Positive, can-do attitude combined with a high ability to deliver and independent problem solving
  • Ability to succeed and thrive in a dynamic and highly collaborative work environment
Preferred requirements and experience
  • 3-5 years’ work experience in a global setting; experience at an international organization or in a company active in energy an asset
  • Broad intellectual background with at least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject
  • A strong interest in and understanding of key issues on the international energy agenda
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and against tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactive and service-oriented self-starter
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of recent digital platforms is an advantage (eg. SalesForce)
