Travelzoo is seeking a part-time Assistant Publisher – 3 days per week to be based in our London office. The Assistant Publisher is responsible for providing support to the publishing team. You collaborate with multiple departments to produce, approve and deliver deals that inspire and delight our 4.5 million + members in the UK. For this position, you should possess a strong editorial background and a passion for publishing quality travel and lifestyle deals. Furthermore, you enjoy working in a team and demonstrate entrepreneurial thinking. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validating all deal submissions by checking supplied research and conducting further independent research to ensure each deal meets Travelzoo’s quality requirements
  • Strategize with other teams to ensure members receive the most relevant offers in a timely manner and to develop value-driven deals Travelzoo members love
  • Coordinating imagery with the photo editors
  • Editing and final proof reading of content; ensuring images/copy/headline balance
  • Maintaining the editorial integrity of our publications
  • Some preparation of emails for send
  • Providing support on themed email campaigns: collating relevant deals, ordering content on landing pages and maintaining a calendar of prominent cultural events around which to plan future campaigns

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Thorough understanding of editorial and journalistic principles
  • Understanding of an online business with a unique member-based model
  • Successful track record of managing online campaigns (familiarity with cookie and pixel tracking, and analytics, preferred)
  • Fluency in English plus an additional European language skill preferred (written and verbal communications)
  • Good knowledge of online-media and tourism industry
  • “Can-do”-attitude, solution oriented
  • Usually 0-2 years of relevant experience in an editorial role
