Abu Dhabi University places strong emphasis on research as a key objective of its strategic goals. We are committed to promoting research, including through international collaborations. For this purpose, the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs has launched a new initiative that provides an opportunity for outstanding researchers to collaborate with researchers at our institution. The program not only aims to improve our research productivity but also to enhance our reputation and visibility through developing and strengthening collaborations. It will also enable ADU researchers to develop as researchers while, jointly with international collaborators, contributing to nationally and regionally relevant areas of research.
International researchers are invited to apply. The program allows established researchers to join us as Visiting Fellows or Senior Visiting Fellows. Based on the needs of individual projects, Fellows will be able to work remotely as contributors or to work with us at one of our Campuses in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain or Dubai for short periods of time. Candidates are expected to be accomplished researchers publishing at the highest level in their fields. They will also have experience of supporting the development of less experienced researchers and working in teams. Joint publications and collaborative research programs with ADU researchers would be the key outcome of this initiative. Fellowships will be funded to cover an honorarium and, where appropriate, travel and accommodation. In general, the Fellowships will be part of internally funded research initiatives to include faculty time, conference travel, research assistantships, and other research related expenses. The collaboration aims to build productive teams comprising of international research experts and ADU researchers as well as cultivate fruitful transfer and sharing of knowledge to benefit both parties. Based on performance, the Fellowships may be extended.
We will consider expressions of interest in any of the fields of our academic provision ( www.adu.ac.ae ). Applicants are requested to send their resumes, including a list of publications, along with a one page statement specifying their suggested area for collaboration, experience of working in research teams and as research mentors, and why they would be interested in such a collaboration, to firstname.lastname@example.org .
