Purpose of the position

The Senior Flight Operations Policy & Standards Manager is responsible for definition and alignment of operational processes and procedures within Flight Operations. 

Responsibilities

  • Determining Airbus flight operations policy to ensure the safe operation of the fleet, ensuring appropriate policy changes are considered and implemented where appropriate;
  • Ensuring that all relevant Airbus technical information is assessed, reviewed and where appropriate, action is taken to inform crews and procedures updated accordingly;
  • Ensuring that all relevant safety information is assessed and reviewed in coordination with Senior Manager Safety and Compliance Flight Operation. Where appropriate, mitigating action or appropriate flight operational policy and procedures are implemented or changed;
  • Attend the monthly Safety Action Group (SAG) and FSAG meetings.
  • Action any relevant safety issues arising with appropriate changes to flight operations policy and procedures;
  • Monitor the departmental and cross departmental policies and procedures to ensure the full alignment of those as required and facilitate implementation
  • Content and amendment of the Flight Operations Manuals (including, but not limited to OM part A, B,) to ensure alignment and consistency
  • Issuing CrewOrders and any other documents as deemed necessary for the purpose of Safe and efficient operations 
  • Overview and assessment of de-identified FDA events, and if required, applying appropriate changes to procedures to mitigate any risks or safety related trends
  • Management of Technical Captain, Performance Pilot within Flight Operations
  • Management of FlightPolicy and Standards team within Flight Operations
  • Liaise with Senior Manager Flight Operations on Flight Operations organization matters
  • Liaise with Chief Pilot on Line - Operation matters within Flight Operations
  • Cooperate with other AOCs of the airline group seeking opportunities of standardization among them
  • Participate departmental and cross-functional working groups as required in relation to departmental intitaives
  • Provides feedback and cascades information within the department both verbal and in written form
  • Besides Operations departments, cooperation with other Wizz Departments including but not limited to: IT, Airport Development, Controlling within the scope of the responsibilities
  • Propose use of IT powered technologies in order to increase departmental efficiency
  • Provide budget input and cost ownership within the scope of responsibility
  • Cooperate with other AOCs of the airline group seeking opportunities of standardization among them
  • Cooperate with peers of other departments of the operations organziation
  • Provides regular update and periodical reports to leadership of the organization

Authority

  • Supervision of Technical Captain, Performance Pilot within Flight Operations
  • supervision of FlightPolicy and Standards team within Flight Operations
  • Initiate policy and procedure changes in relation to Flight Operations
  • Issuing CrewOrders and any other documents as deemed necessary for the purpose of Safe and efficient operations 
  • Maintain relations with the competent Authority regarding the standards of Flight Operations policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Ability understand, develop and use complex systems and processes
  • Ability and willingness to understand and adopt to company culture and strategy
  • Good people management skills
  • Ability to handle time pressure
  • Positive and result oriented attitude
  • Good communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Very good English (both written and spoken)
  • Computer literacy (Ms Office and iOS systems)
  • Thorough knowledge of EASA rules and directives
  • Above average familiarity with Airbus documentation
  • Detailed understanding of safety principles surrounding aircraft operating processes and procedures
  • Experience in Airline Operations environment,
  • Airline pilot experience is an advantage
  • MS/BS degree
