Description

Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Global Head of HR, the Head of HR is responsible for leading the HR team at MPC Vancouver, overseeing all HR functions except recruitment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Guide management and employee actions using best practices and company policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines
  • Communicate and apply organization values
  • Manage complex employee issues using HR and company knowledge
  • Communicate assertively and diplomatically with all stakeholders
  • Drive learning, training and development opportunities and abilities – especially pertaining to internal training initiatives
  • Create and implement strategies to manage the constant and rapid changes – doing so in a manner that retains employees and culture whilst supporting the change
  • Lead and develop the management and HR teams ensuring they have the appropriate skills and behaviours to deliver agreed objectives – encourage knowledge sharing across teams
  • Maintain and manage employee labour budgets
  • Identify budget trends with the global HR team and provide recommendations to management
  • Collaborate with the Global Senior Management team and across local disciplines to execute deliverables
  • Partner with the Global Head of HR to plan and roll out Global initiatives to the MPC Vancouver Studio

Skills and Experience

Technical Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of British Columbia’s labour and employment standards, practices, and common law
  • Knowledge of immigration and residency laws and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience:

  • 10 years of HR experience, preferably in a management/leadership role with a global company
  • Experience in technological, creative or artistic environment
