Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report to management regarding the finances of company with regards to cash management and keeping liquidity always at demand to cover releasing payrolls and any other due payments for vendors or suppliers;
  • Keep the chart of accounts maintained, assigned, and allocated entries to proper accounts;
  • Develop, implement, modify, and document the recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of the company’s accounting system;
  • Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel, and direct their work activities;
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries;
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance;
  • Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing the requested documentations;
  • Update accounts receivable, issue invoices, track the invoices; update aging report, issue statement of account (SOA) and follow up with the clients and make sure the invoices are paid and settled on time;
  • Investigate bankruptcies and other complex financial transactions and prepare reports summarizing the findings to keep the company away from running out of cash and always keep bank balances available as per the necessity;
  • Keep Fixed Asset Register and calculated the depreciation, appraise, evaluate property and equipment, recording information such as the property's description, value, and location;
  • Prepare periodic Financial Reports (Financial Statement, Income Statement, Cash Flows etc...) when requested by the direct supervisor;
  • Withdraw & Deposit cash from bank to another and keep bank accounts reconciled and up to dated continuously;
  • Manage all aspects the company’s accounts receivable, cash receipts and banking, including the review of supporting documentation;
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and review recommend the modifications to the company’s accounting systems and procedures and make the adjustment entries after approvals and ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed;
  • Have a main role in updating the company’s accounting systems with related to daily activities, month-end and year-end close process;
  • Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff;
  • Liaising with banks to address any account issues and queries;
  • Maintaining security and confidentiality of financial records;
  • Prepare and update the Social Security File of the company to include all employees’ salaries and other details for settling the monthly SS contributions to the related government entities. The documents must be accurate and to be submitted in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and update the Personal Income Tax File of the company to include all employees’ income details, for preparing and settling the associated taxes to the related tax office/s, ensuring adequacy and punctuality in meeting deadlines.
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information;
  • Acting as the Officer in Charge for the Accounting department when requested;
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned & requested by the department Head.



  • Bachelors' degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • 5+ years of related accounting experience;
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills.
  • Solid understanding of accounting practices and principles.
  • Very well aware about the laws and regulations particularly in regard to TAX and labor law.
  • Pro-active while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked and fast paced environment with firm deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with a high degree of proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Systems is preferable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, high initiative and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Able to conduct business trips, within the country, when required.
  • Fluency in English and Kurdish is required, Arabic is a plus.


Working Condition :

(5) Days per week & (8) hours per day (Starting from 8:30 am till 5:00 pm);
