Using these tools and Ubuntu, we deliver world-leading implementations of ‘big software’ for customers - such as container infrastructure like Docker Engine, Kubernetes and Mesos, scale-out data systems like Hadoop and Spark, and OpenStack itself. We like our products to be driven by real customer needs in the field, so as a starting engineer you will spend up to half your time on-site with customers helping them to take on next-generation challenges. They will look to you to show the way.
You will love this position if you are a talented software engineer with an interest in the latest techniques for delivering high-quality operations to a wide range of customers in a wide range of countries - from the cloud to the edge. As a multi-talented software engineer, you will prove your ability to deliver product-grade code that ships to critical systems in a series of Canonical’s products, learning how we coordinate software delivery across a multi-layered stack. You will spend time working on several of these products both in the field and as a primary code contributor, mastering and delivering the ‘big software’ deployments that depend on them. This is an opportunity to learn a great deal about the systems that are defining enterprise computing, and help shape them too.
