Description

We are looking for an Operations Officer to join the Banking Department (Back Office Operations). The successful candidate will operate Back Office Operations systems and validate the accuracy of the trade’s input. He/she will keep abreast of developments in standards and settlement financial world; participate in IT projects, testing and audits; support defining, analysing and proposing processes and systems enhancements / re-engineering; and ensure conformity with the rules set by compliance or Internal Audit.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Validation and confirmation of all the Bank’s trades.
  • Resolution of exceptions in the straight-through processing for all non-standard and complex operations for bonds, money market, FX and derivatives instruments.
  • Investigate and resolve confirmation mismatches and settlement failures together with front office, custodians and customers.
  • Ensures accuracy and timeliness of confirmations, settlements and payments.
  • Deal and settlement instructions maintenance.
  • Creation/checking/maintenance of bond definitions in trading system.

Qualification and skills:

  • Banking diploma or equivalent.
  • Good knowledge of Banking instruments, market practice and new initiatives in the Banking industry.
  • Flexible to cope with variety of tasks, cooperative, good team player.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Customer-focused.
  • Ability to cope with pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of Swift messaging formats.
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg information systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and promptly.   
  • Fluency in English required. Knowledge of German, Italian or French desirable.

Work experience:

  • Minimum of two year’s work experience, preferably in Banking operations.
