The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the international organization for public-private cooperation.
 
The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.
 
As a membership organization, the Forum, through the Partner Engagement Group, engages businesses in projects and initiatives – online and offline – to address industry, regional and systemic issues.
 
Organized by Industry and/or Region, the teams are responsible for building the world’s premier communities of business leaders to advance critical topics facing the industries on global, regional and industry agendas through engagement with government, industry, regulatory and civil society leaders.
 
The Head of Partnership Engagement is responsible for strengthening the relationship with existing members and partners and engaging new memberships and partnerships. Reporting to the Chief Representative Officer of China, the Head of Partnership Engagement will develop strategies to engage Greater-China-based companies in the full portfolio of World Economic Forum activities and communities.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
• Team leadership: Design and implement strategy that allows the China Partnership Engagement team to deliver value to member and partner companies consistent with the Forum’s mission
• Ensure optimal team structure and organization: Manage team members’ performance, support career development and oversee onboarding and offboarding of team members
• Strategy formulation and action plan delivery: Lead the development and delivery of short-term, medium-term and long-term strategies (setting targets, constructing pipelines, formulating business plans, etc.) to ensure the Forum continues to be the foremost platform for global leaders and Greater-China-based companies
• Business development: Attract new members and partners by developing a thorough offering of the multiple engagement opportunities available to Forum partners, and highlighting the optimal value
• Relationship management: Work with CEOs and senior executives, academics and government officials to deliver insight and shape the China engagement agenda for maximum impact
 
Qualifications and Skills
• Minimum 12 years of relevant client-facing business experience requiring communication, organizational, decision-making and leadership skills in a dynamic and international environment; business development and/or marketing and sales experience is a plus
• Master’s degree in economics, engineering, business or related discipline
• Record of leadership and management experience, able to skilfully execute multiple and occasionally competing priorities
• Entrepreneurial spirit keen to identify unique opportunities, craft a vision and execute it
• Team player with the ability to build strong relationships and networks, and navigate complex organization
• Global outlook and business experience on different continents
• Excellent understanding of the current industry landscape, the key drivers changing the sector, and their consequences for the future
• Experience in analysing complex industry issues using the most relevant business intelligence and in synthesizing appropriate recommendations
• Demonstrated work with industry leaders at senior executive and preferably C-suite level; policy experts in academia, NGOs and government agencies
• Outstanding communication skills, fluent in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese and English
