Our client is a transcreation, translation and multilingual multimedia agency based in central London. Working as a fairly newly established part of a 100 people strong group of brand, creative and production agencies, they are uniquely positioned to service a wide range of high profile clients such as Decca, Sony, Adidas, Mastercard and HP and others  within the arts and entertainment, financial and tech sectors.

The language services industry is one of the fastest growing in the world and absolutely vital for companies that want to grow globally, helping them to position and sell their products, brands and services in new markets.

The role will be rewarding, both financially and professionally. It will allow you freedom to work across a number of industries, and to have a vital role in the expansion of the company at a pivotal point in its development.

We are looking for a hunter-style sales person, with a strong interest and background in the creative industries. You will most probably have a second language and be translation aware.

The Business Development Manager will be required to sell our client’s transcreation, translation and translation-plus services (such as artwork, digital design and production) to medium-sized to large businesses within and beyond the arts and entertainment, travel/leisure, financial and tech sectors.

In this challenging sales role, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, initiating and developing relationships with potential clients, presenting/pitching and delivering sales in terms of new clients and new warm leads. The role will involve pitching proposals, email campaign management, cold calling and lead management.

Profile

  • A highly motivated individual preferably with an excellent proven track record in sales in multimedia, creative, transcreation, translation and/or language services (3+ years)
  • An outstanding communicator, enthusiastic and passionate about selling
  • An individual with drive and determination, confident in dealing with personnel at all levels of a company
  • An awareness and understanding of the nature of branding and new media
  • An existing network in relevant industries
  • Preferably degree educated

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Establish and develop new contacts within identified sectors, sourcing new business opportunities
  • Develop your existing contacts and network, sourcing new opportunities
  • Devise and implement targeted sales and marketing activities
  • Write proposals and produce presentations for potential clients
  • Attend meetings with potential clients, using presentations and portfolios
  • Provide excellent customer service in early stages of new accounts
  • Update and maintain internal database of status on all pitches, email/phone campaigns, closed sales etc and update weekly sales reports

Remuneration

Basic salary of up to £38k pa, depending on experience, plus a generous commission.
